Miniature Receptacles for Diverse Applications
The four latest additions to Mill-Max’s series of miniature receptacles are designed for applications where positive insertion and
reliable connections are essential. Two of these receptacles are
suitable for use in high density configurations down to 1 mm
pitch. One receptacle is a low profile, solder mount, open bottom
receptacle fitted with a temporary solder barrier for use in paste-in-hole reflow soldering. The last of the four receptacles is a SMT
receptacle mainly used for 1 mm grid socket configurations such
as in BGA socket and adapter pairs.
Each receptacle contains our three-finger, beryllium copper
contact with a diameter range of .008 (0, 2 mm) to .013” (0,33

Industrial Equivalent Circular Connectors
Mencom now offers an Industrial Equivalent, to the MIL-Spec
5015 connector series, in order to serve industrial applications
that need the ruggedness of the MIL-Spec design, but do not
need the military specifications. The circular connectors include
completely over-molded cord sets and pre-wired & epoxied
panel mount receptacles. This plug and play design simplifies
the installation for the user and eliminates the risk of incorrectly wiring the connector.
Mencom MIL-Spec circular connectors are available in 4 shell
sizes in 10SL, 14S, 16S and 18, which are fully inter-mateable
with existing 5015 style connectors. Each shell size allows for a
variety of pin counts and configurations. These connectors use
threaded couplings to mate and provide IP67 protection. For

30 GHz Bandwidth Socket for BGA1086 Package
Ironwood Electronics has recently introduced a new high performance elastomer socket for 0.65mm pitch BGA package. The
SG-BGA-9002 socket is designed for a 25mmx25mm package
size and operates at bandwidths up to 30 GHz with less than
1dB of insertion loss (GSSG configuration). The contact resistance
is typically 20 milliohms per pin.
The smallest footprint allows inductors, resistors and decoupling
capacitors to be placed very close to the device for impedance
tuning. The socket also incorporates a simple hardware installation method so that IC’s can be changed out quickly. The socket
is designed for 20W power dissipation using heat sink compression screw with axial flow DC fan. Current capacity is 2 amps per

Amphenol Industrial Products Group, has enhanced its Max M12 product line
to include board level connectors that mate to a PCB board with straight or
right angle solder pins. These new connectors are ideal for high speed data
transmission devices found in harsh environments. The field installable and
