Precision Linear Motion Drive Features Thrust Capacity from 7 to
Amacoil/Uhing’s Precision Motion Drive System is a Model RG rolling ring
linear drive integrated with a motion controller for precision linear motion
applications. It is fully programmable and meets application requirements
for precision winding/spooling, pick-and-place machines, X-Y coordinate tool
movement, metrology equipment and other machinery. Drive nut travel direction, linear pitch and other motion parameters are controlled by the angle
of the rolling ring bearings inside the drive unit. The angling and pivoting of
the rolling rings is, in turn, controlled by user programming. The Precision
Motion Drive System is available in several configurations which provide from
7 to 800 pounds of axial thrust.
Fast, simple operation is enhanced with intuitive prompts displayed on a
touch screen control panel. The Precision Motion Drive stores up to 20
programs which are easily recalled at the touch of a button. Stop/start, travel
direction, linear pitch, travel speed, repetitive processes, ramp up/down
and essentially all other variables pertaining to drive nut movement may be
programed into the system to meet application requirements.
Compact Servo Drive Integrates Motor, Gearbox & Controller
Tolomatic’s new ACSI integrated servo motor creates a space-saving, integrated servo motor/drive/controller electric actuator solution for single-axis
applications. Designed for easy-to-use, cost-effective servo control, it is ideal
for replacing pneumatic cylinders and automating other axes of motion.
The ACSI is designed to be controlled from a PLC or master controller via
24 Vdc digital I/O, 0-10 Vdc or 4-20ma analog I/O, EtherNet/IP or Modbus
TCP. The dual-port Ethernet implementation allows for many drives to be
daisy-chained and controlled by a PLC or master controller; EtherNet/IP and
Modbus TCP also allows for infinite position capability.
Available in two sizes (NEMA 23 & 34), the ACSI features easy-to-use
operating modes such as digital I/O index moves, analog position (0-10Vdc
or 4-20mA), ODVA™ conformant EtherNet/IP™ and Modbus TCP. Additional
features include a standard IP65 rating, industry standard M12 connectors,
dual Ethernet ports with LED indicators and a USB programming port.
Drive Nut Runs on Threadless Shaft for Clean, Jam-Free
Amacoil-Uhing Model RS drive nuts provide smooth backlash-free linear
motion in machine design. Unlike a screw, the drive operates on the rolling
ring engineering principle, producing linear motion from a smooth, rotating
shaft while assuring no play or backlash during movement of the drive nut.
Should an object somehow become caught between the nut and the shaft
bearing end support, the drive simply slips until the operator can remove
RS linear drive nuts offer axial thrust from 22 to 449 pounds. Available in
ten sizes to meet varying payload and thrust requirements, the RS drive nut
is suitable for vertical or horizontal travel. Each of the ten sizes is available
in five different linear pitch settings. Shaft rotational speeds may be up to
10,000 rpm depending on the size of the drive. Linear travel speed ranges
from 0.5 ft./sec. up to 4.0 ft./sec.
