Miniature Inert Solenoid Pump
The Lee Company’s new LPM Series Inert Solenoid Pump was designed to offer greater design
flexibility and significant cost savings to the
medical and scientific industries. The LPM pump
features a revolutionary port head design that allows tubing connections and manifold mounting.
This enables the designer to test the fluidic system using connections to soft 1/16” tubing, and
then once the system design has been finalized,
the same pump can be manifold mounted using
standard O-rings. Available in standard 10 and
25µL models, the pump features low power consumption and a contoured end cap that provides
secondary connector retention and is compatible
with standard AMP connectors.

Bimba Manufacturing has announced the introduction of IntelliSense, a
technology platform that will enable users to be proactive about maintenance and system optimization. IntelliSense combines sensors, cylinders,
and software to deliver real-time performance data, enhancing productivity without sacrificing quality or efficiency. The intelligence of IntelliSense is
embedded inside the Sensor Interface Module, a remote monitoring device connected to sensors
attached to Bimba cylinders using pneumatic fittings. Users receive operational insights about
cylinder condition, cycle time, pressure (to one hundredth of a psi), and temperatures (down to a
hundredth of a degree).

Optical Component Fabrication
Metrigraphics, a process development and
manufacturing resource for ultra-miniature
passive circuits and structures, has announced
it has achieved breakthrough performances in
the fabrication of precision optical components.
These include range of products, range of technologies, feature definition (e.g., edge definition
and line-width tolerance), and optical precision.
Metrigraphics’ fabs include a high degree of edge
definition and with line-width tolerances of one
to two microns, rotary disks, and encoder scales.
Disc positional accuracies of a few arc seconds
and scale accuracies of up to one micron in
12mm are possible in scales with lengths of up
to two meters.
