High Efficiency, High Current Buck-Boost Regulators
Intersil Corporations’ ISL91127 and ISL91128 buck-boost regulators feature 4.5A switches, best-in-class efficiency up to 96%, and

The ISL91127 and ISL91128 operate in buck, boost or buck-boost
mode, depending on the relation between input and output voltages, and provide smooth transitions between modes to prevent noise
and glitches. The new buck-boost regulators’ wide input voltage
range of 1.8V to 5.5V supports multiple battery topologies, and their
wide output voltage range of 1V to 5.2V combined with 3A output
current provide the ultimate in design flexibility. The ISL91128 also
features I2C programmable dynamic output voltage adjustability,
which eliminates feedback resistors and allows the reuse of the
same design for multiple output voltage needs.
High Temperature, Long Life Nickel Metal Hydride Battery
Panasonic Corporation is developing a high temperature, long life type Nickel Metal Hydride battery (BK1100FHU), with an ambient discharge range of -40° C to 85° C. Samples
are anticipated to be available December 2016. This battery is suitable for applications
requiring high capacity and a wide range of temperatures. This product is ideal for a variety
of markets and applications, such as Renewable Energy applications (including Solar Street
Lights), tracking, underwater applications, and power sources.
Panasonic’s Nickel Metal Hydride batteries offer up to three times the capacity of same
size standard Nickel Cadmium batteries. Due to their increased capacity and energy density features, users can expect a longer run time between charges and long life.
The TRUMPower TMP65 series of low cost medical grade AC/DC desktop power adapters
give users a head start in meeting 4th edition EMC standards, including the ability to withstand ESD of 8kV contact and 15kV air. The TMP65 Class I units come with an IEC 320/C6
AC inlet that has a ground pin. Class II units, furnished with an IEC 320/C8 AC inlet without
a ground pin, are double insulated to provide proper safety protection where the availability
and integrity of an earth cannot be guaranteed. The series offers standard single output
voltages of 12V, 15V, 18V, 19V, 20V or 24V with continuous output power of up to 65 watts;
non-standard output voltages are available upon request.
The TMP65 series is approved by UL/cUL and TUV to the latest medical standards, including
IEC/EN/UL 60601-1 (Edition 3.1), ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1 (2012), CAN/CSA-C22.2 No.
60601-1 (2014) and by CB & CCC to IEC 60950-1 2nd edition ITE standards. The power
adapter complies with IEC/EN 60601-1-2 4th edition medical EMC and immunity standards.
With efficiency higher than 87%, the TMP65 series is in compliance with CEC and Energy
Star efficiency level VI requirements.
