Metal Materials for Additive Manufacturing
EOS, the technology and market leader for design-driven and industrial

with EOS Titanium Ti64ELI and EOS StainlessSteel 316L. Parts built in EOS
Titanium Ti64 have a chemical composition and mechanical properties
corresponding to ASTM F136. Due to its biocompatibility and high grade
of purity, it is particularly suited for the additive manufacturing of medical
implants. The StainlessSteel 316L alloy has been optimized specifically for
processing on the EOSINT M 280 metal laser-sintering system. Parts built
from EOS StainlessSteel 316L have a chemical composition corresponding
to ASTM F138. In the medical industry, this alloy is particularly suited for
surgical instruments, endoscopic surgery, orthopedics, and implants.

Heat and Light Stabilized Pebax
Foster Corporation, a leader in custom polymers for medical devices,
introduces heat and light stabilized polyether block amide (PEBA) copolymers that resist oxidation and degradation during storage. Foster HLS
formulations are manufactured from medical grade Pebax polymers and
USP VI additives for use in medical device applications such as vascular
catheters. Foster has developed a targeted stabilizer system which can
both decompose and neutralize the free radicals created by exposure
to oxygen, heat, and UV light, which otherwise would initiate the loss
of polymer properties. These polymer formulations can extend reliable
functionality of medical devices.
