High Performing Miniature Pumps for 0-400 ml/min & Higher
Servoflo Corporation of Lexington, Massachusetts has announced the M Series of high performing miniature pumps. Designed for delivering small amounts of liquids, these centrifu-gal-based pumps are extremely small and quiet. Viton seals are standard, with options for
alternative seal materials and wetted parts to make them resistant to most chemicals and
solvents. Waterproof and submersible versions are available. The pumps use push-fit connectors designed for 3. 2 mm tubing. A 220 mm electrical fly lead is fitted as standard.

Wider Range of Mixed Technology, Hi-rel Connectors
Harwin has broadened the range of its Datamate Mix-Tek mixed-technol-ogy connector series that is available as standard off-the-shelf products.
Now horizontal and coax versions of the popular 2mm pitch hi-rel family
are immediately available for designers, reducing design time. Harwin’s
Datamate Mix-Tek connector range can be customer-specified in a huge
number of configurations of signal, power and coax contacts. But in order
to respond to industry demands for fast turn-around, the company has
made the most commonly-chosen variations available as standard items.
The new horizontal format and coax contact variants add to 41 other configurations that are also stocked as standard items, these include power
only configurations from 2-10 power contacts and mixed contact configurations from 2 signal/2 power through to 12 signal/4 power.

Micro Extruders for High Performance Medical Fluoropolymer
American Kuhne has developed a 16mm micro extruder
designed to process fluoropolymers for miniature medical
device applications such as fine
wire jacketing for neuromodu-lation, microdialysis tubing and
neonatal intravenous (IV) catheter tubing. These applications
typically require an extruder that
can process high performance
Fluoropolymers (ETFE, PFA and FEP) at very low volumes down to 3. 4
grams/min (. 45 lb/hr). Unlike most medical grade thermoplastics such
as Polyurethane, Nylon and Pebax, it is difficult to process Fluoropolymers
on extruders smaller than 16mm because the special corrosion resistant
screw materials that are used such as Inconel and Hastelloy have low
torsional strength and are prone to break at diameters below 16mm. The
smallest extruders for these applications have traditionally been 3/4-inch
